"The Ethiopian Michael Tsegaye adopted another strategy in his depiction of presence. His photographed figures in a misty ambiance
seems to merge into or out of the very mist itself. Presence is subtly alluded to, almost subliminally. The mist itself seems to be the
subject matter of the photographs, so strong it is liquid, enveloping presence. Almost as if there was a sound in the subliminal light, a
strange almost inaudible hum that enveloped and overwhelmed. We merge gradually into a fading nothingness."
